2018 SBF CSA Week #16

Not getting the 3-6 inches of rain that was predicted was a pleasant surprise!  We hope everyone had a great Labor Day!  The weekend was filled with relaxation and family for both of us.  Our two weeks off during the CSA season are probably the two weeks of the CSA that we get to enjoy cooking our produce the most.  We also made some homemade ice cream with raw milk, raw cream, honey, our farm fresh eggs, and some fresh peaches.  It was the first time we had tried this recipe and it was absolutely delicious.  The best homemade ice cream I’ve ever had, especially since it didn’t have all of the added sugar.  That made us start thinking about the possibility of including raw milk and cream, as an add-on option, especially during the winter months since keeping it cold is not as big of a concern.  We are thinking egg deliveries this winter are a go, so we hope to add the milk option as well.  How many of you would be interested in grass-fed raw milk and/or raw cream this winter from a local dairy, Brockman Dairy?  Off season egg deliveries, will take place every other week, with a minimum purchase of 1 dozen per address.  We are still working through the pricing details, but will share pricing with you as soon as possible.  We can tell you that pricing will not differ much from this season’s egg pricing, if any at all.  Please let us know as soon as possible if you will be interested in eggs and/or raw milk or cream (if offered).
