Swiss Chard


IN SEASON:  June, September, October
STORAGE:  Store unwashed in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.  Place in crisper drawer if available.  In these conditions, chard will last 2-3 days.  Stalks will last longer if removed from leaves.
COOKING TIPS:  Tender leaves are great raw in salads or on a sandwich.  Can be substituted for spinach in most recipes.
