2017 SBF CSA Week #11

Greetings Shared Bounty Family.  This week marks the mid-point of our CSA season.  The summer crops are in full swing, and the majority of our fall crops are in the ground.  The cool weather we are experiencing sure makes it more pleasant to work in the gardens, even if it sometimes seems we are not gaining any ground on the weeds.  This week we have some delicious peaches, tomatoes, and squash.  The prime ingredients for some healthy and delicious summertime meals.  Please remember that we love feedback — please send any comments, questions, and/or concerns to sharedbountyfarm@gmail.com or give us a ring at (636) 462-4058.

HIGHLIGHTED RECIPES

Who doesn’t love to start with dessert every now and then.   There’s nothing quite like a perfectly ripe piece of stone fruit. It’s tender and packed with flavor and makes for an excellent addition to just about everything.  But if you’re really going for it – then you should GRILL your stone fruit!  They get grilled which brings out the flavor even more and you get little caramelized bits that are like little pieces of happiness.

This squash and tomato summer favorite is delightful as a starter or as a side dish with fish, chicken or cooked grains.

Spice things up a bit with this eggplant and potato Indian dish that is sure to be a hit!
